History
Salt Lake City's council unanimously adopted the Sego Belonging flag as an official city flag on May 6, 2025. It is the Progress Pride flag with the city's sego lily added in the canton.
The city describes the rainbow as the beauty and diversity of the LGBTQIA community, the arrow as marginalized communities and forward progress, and the lily as beauty and resilience.
Utah's 2025 law banned unofficial flags on government buildings, so the city made these pride flags official city flags. The sego lily comes from Salt Lake City's flag, designed in 2020 by West High School students Arianna Meinking and Elio Kennedy-Yoon.
