Privacy policy

This policy explains what information My Pride Flag (myprideflag.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your email or submissions, and we never put you on a mailing list.

My Pride Flag is an independent website run by Erika Castillo in California, United States. Contact: hello@myprideflag.com.

What we collect and why

When you browse

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. We keep analytics event data for 14 months and have Google signals turned off. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics only runs after you consent.
• Advertising. Most pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads and, if you allow it, to personalize them based on your visits to this and other sites. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland we ask for your consent first through Google's consent tool. • Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
• Fonts. Our fonts are hosted on our own site, so loading a page does not send your information to a font service.

When you click a shopping link

Links to Amazon and partner shops take you to their sites, which have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. We receive only aggregate reports of purchases, never your name or what you personally bought.

When you submit a flag or correction

• We collect your email address, the flag details you send, and any note you add.
• We send one email asking you to confirm. If you do not confirm within 48 hours, your submission and email address are deleted automatically.
• Once confirmed, we review the submission by hand. Your email address is deleted within 30 days after we approve or decline it. Flag information we publish stays on the site, and we credit you only if you ask us to.
• Submissions are stored and confirmation emails are sent using Cloudflare. We do not use a separate marketing email service, and we never add you to a mailing list.
• The submission form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are a person. Turnstile does not use your data for advertising.
• If you ask to be credited, we keep the name you give us with the flag information we publish.

When you email us

Mail to hello@myprideflag.com is forwarded by Cloudflare to our inbox, which is hosted by Google. We use your message only to reply and delete it when it is no longer needed.

What we never do

• We never sell your email address or submissions.
• We never send marketing email.
• We never ask for information about your sexual orientation, gender identity, or health. Please do not include it in submissions.

Your choices

• Consent tool. Where we ask for consent, you can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices button in the footer.
• Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of personalized advertising.
• Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
• Analytics opt out. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on all sites.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Personalized advertising through Google may count as sharing under California law; you can opt out with Global Privacy Control, the Privacy choices button, or by emailing us. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland

We rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for hosting data. For submissions we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Some of our service providers process data in the United States.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, and we limit what we store and how long we keep it. No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we keep so little.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the home page.
