History
Lesbian blogger Natalie McCray posted the lipstick lesbian flag on her blog, This Lesbian Life, in July 2010. Lipstick lesbian is slang for a highly feminine lesbian.
The flag was criticized for leaving out butch lesbians, and McCray's own biphobic, racist, and transphobic comments on her now-defunct blog led many to reject it. A version without the kiss, the pink lesbian flag, quickly took its place.
