History
Philadelphia's Office of LGBT Affairs unveiled this flag in June 2017 as part of the More Color More Pride campaign. Adding black and brown stripes was a public call to recognize Black and brown people within the LGBTQ+ community, after reports of racism in parts of the city's gay nightlife.
The flag drew both praise and debate when it launched, and it went on to inspire later inclusive designs, including the Progress Pride flag.
