What the colors mean

Lavender #B57EDC

Androgyny and queerness, a mix of pink and blue.

White #FFFFFF

Agender identity.

Green #4A8123

Identities outside the binary, the inverse of lavender.

History

Writer and artist Marilyn Roxie designed the genderqueer flag, finalizing it in 2011 after earlier drafts.

Each color was chosen with care: lavender mixes the traditional pink and blue, and green sits opposite lavender on the color wheel to stand for genders defined outside the binary.
